Created by three women in Nanaimo, BC following WWII, and then submitted as an official treat of Expo 86, the Nanaimo Bar has become a favourite from coast-to-coast ... to coast and around the world! And when thinking of a new plant-based flavour, the wonderful richness and texture of the Nanaimo Bar raced to the top of the to-do list! We deconstructed the Nanaimo Bar with its chocolate coconut bottom layer, and dark chocolate top layer, and brought those two together as delicious Nanaimo pieces that are mixed into a vegan custard base that is also nut-free! The result is something we hope pays homage to its inventors, its promotors and the lovers of the Nanaimo Bar worldwide!
